An Indiana woman was shot and killed in front of her fiancee after telling a group that ‘all lives matter’ last week.

24-year-old Jessica Doty Whitaker was with her fiance Jose Ramirez and two friends around 3 am near the Indianapolis Canal Walk on July 5. Ramirez recalled that they were hanging out when one of his friends said the n-word. A group of people overheard the conversation and approached Whitaker and Ramirez along with their friends. It was said during the argument, the group yelled “Black Lives Matter” to which Whitaker said “All Lives Matter”.
The group drew guns at each side but talked through their differences and walked away from each other. Ramirez said moments later, Whitaker was shot. He says, ‘It was squashed and they went up the hill and left we thought, but they were sitting on St. Clair waiting for us to come under the bridge and that’s when she got shot,’

Ramirez said he fired back at the suspect but they fled the scene shortly after. Whitaker died from her injuries after she was rushed to a local hospital. She was a mother to three-year-old Greyson and planned to get married next year while planning to attend school next month.
