The incident occurred Friday after the Chicago-bound flight took off from San Francisco International Airport. Authorities said Chloe M. Dasilva,32, was disruptive during the flight and started cursing at a male flight attendant. Additionally, she threatened to kill him, leading two passengers and another flight attendant to restrain her with zip ties. According to the New York Post, a mother and her baby sitting in front of Dasilva were switched to another seat for their safety.

Concerned about the other passengers, the pilot diverted the flight to Kansas City around 4:20 a.m. Dasilva appeared in federal court on Monday, and the FBI investigated the incident.

:An affidavit filed in support of the federal criminal complaint alleges that Dasilva interfered with the duties of flight attendants while she was a passenger aboard Alaska Airlines flight 456. The flight was scheduled for nonstop service from San Francisco International Airport in San Francisco, California, to Chicago O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Ill. However, the flight was diverted into Kansas City International Airport in Kansas City, Mo., at approximately 4:20 a.m. Friday, April 7.”

Last month, an ex-boxer grabbed a man attacking a flight attendant during a flight from Boston. On the flight, Francisco Severo Torres,33, attacked the flight attendant and attempted to open the door of United Airlines Flight 2609 45 minutes after the flight took off from Boston. Jeff Neil and several other passengers intervened to help the flight attendant tackle Torres. He was restrained until the flight landed back in Boston. Neil later received a “Citizen Award” for his actions and said he was “truly at the right place at the right time.”

Torres confessed to knowing if the door was opened that, many people would’ve died. He underwent a mental health evaluation before he was taken into custody.

Threatening a flight attendant is serious and can result in severe penalties. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has the authority to impose civil penalties of up to $35,000 per violation against individuals who threaten or assault flight attendants.

Additionally, criminal charges may be brought against individuals who threaten or assault flight attendants, resulting in fines, imprisonment, or both. The severity of the penalties can depend on the specific circumstances of the incident, including the nature of the threat or assault, whether any physical harm was caused, and the individual’s criminal history.

It’s important to remember that flight attendants are there to ensure the safety of all passengers, and threatening or assaulting them can put everyone on the plane in danger. It’s always best to treat flight attendants respectfully and follow their instructions to help ensure a safe and enjoyable flight for everyone involved.
