55-year-old Karen Turner was apprehended by police officers after she refused to leave Marc’s grocery store in Brook Park when employees told her that she violated their mask policy. Bodycam footage from Turner’s arrest revealed she was refusing to show her identification to police officers and resisted arrest. She also gave the officer a difficult time as they brought her to the vehicle while in handcuffs.

The arrest was made due to a mandated statewide mask order enforced by Gov. Mike DeWine who said all individuals are required to wear a mask in public areas. Turner pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest, criminal trespass, and failure to disclose information.
