Nhu “Annie” Ngoc Nguyen,51, was killed in December 2018 after Krystal Whipple,23, refused to pay $35 for a manicure at Crystal Nails & Spa. Nguyen and her boyfriend chased after Whipple after she allegedly paid for the manicure with a fraudulent credit card and told the pair she was going to run to her car to get cash. During the confrontation, Nguyen was struck by Whipple’s vehicle and dragged throughout the parking lot. Authorities revealed that the black Chevy Camaro was a stolen rental vehicle. Whipple went on the run from police for two weeks until she turned herself in Pheonix, Arizona.

Last December, she pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for Nguyen’s death.
