Whoopi Goldberg, never one to shy away from controversy, came to the defense of her fellow icon, Dolly Parton, with her trademark wit and sass. The 68-year-old actress and television host called out the critics who dared to question Dolly’s choice of outfit at the Thanksgiving football game.
During the “Hot Topics” segment of “The View,” Goldberg didn’t hold back. She humorously remarked, “Apparently, my turkey wasn’t the only subject online that people were hating.” The audience erupted in applause, fully supporting Goldberg’s stance.
Dolly Parton, at the age of 77, took the stage in the signature Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform and stole the show. However, some felt the need to chime in and tell her to “act her age.” But Goldberg had the perfect response for them: “Bite me.” She added, “Everybody that participated in this [hate train], you should be ashamed of yourself.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Goldberg. She chimes in and said, “If I look like that in one of them Cowboys things, I might have everything out,” the 55-year-old laughed. “I don’t know if that’s a belly ring or what, but I want what she has.”

As many know, Dolly Parton has been an enduring icon in the music industry, known for her incredible talent, philanthropy, and, of course, her larger-than-life personality for years.
Clearly, she’s getting better and even hotter with age and she doesn’t plan to change it up any time soon.
Just last month, Parton talked about her over-the-top performances and how folks would compare her to the “town tramp,” a local woman who wore mainly high heels and tight skirts.
The country music star told the Guardian, “She was flamboyant. She had bright red lipstick, long red fingernails. She had high-heeled shoes, little floating plastic goldfish in the heels of them, short skirts, low-cut tops, and I just thought she was beautiful. When people would say, ‘She ain’t nothing but trash,’ I would always say, ‘Well, that’s what I’m gonna be when I grow up,’ ” the Grammy winner said.
