Leavitt revealed she gave birth on May 1 — 6 days after the couple was evacuated during a targeted attack on President Donald Trump and his administration at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 25.

Leavitt and her husband, a real estate developer, now share two children. Vivi joins big brother, Nicholas Robert Riccio, aka “Niko,” who was born on July 10, 2024 — 3 days before Donald Trump’s assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. Similar to her brief maternity leave interruption with Vivi, Leavitt had to cut her leave short with Niko to return to work post-sh**ting.

On Thursday (May 7), Leavitt took to her personal Instagram account to share the news of her baby girl’s birth. She shared a photo of herself holding her baby girl on her chest. She captioned the post:

“On May 1st, Viviana aka “Vivi” joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love. 💕 She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister. We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble. Thank you to everyone who reached out with prayers during my pregnancy – I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good.🙏”

How Karoline Leavitt, 28, And Husband Nicholas Riccio, 60, First Met

Leavitt and Riccio first met in 2022, when she was 25 and running for a Congress seat in New Hampshire. She ended up winning the Republican nomination, but lost the election to Democrat Chris Pappas. In 2023, Leavitt and Riccio got engaged. They tied the knot in January 2025 — two days before PresidentTrump’s inauguration for his second term.

Along with gaining attention for becoming the youngest White House Press Secretary in U.S. history, Leavitt, has also drawn attention for the 32-year age gap between her and her husband. Despite the criticism, she insists she and her husband have “a very atypical love story.” During a February 2026 appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, she added, “He’s incredible.”
