A source expressed to the Sun that, “the search for Wendy‘s guest hosts is an absolute mess. Producers are totally winging it day by day trying to book people to fill in for her.”
“They haven’t nailed down a solid roster of people as of yet.” The source also spoke on the replacement being so tough because the fans really only tune in to see Wendy and if someone new come alongs it might hurt their ratings.
“Because people are watching for Wendy, potential hosts have been hesitant to take the helm because poor show ratings reflect poorly on them,” the source continued. Furthermore, reports are stating that the star was not consulted prior to booking for guest host.
This isn’t the first time that production was forced to find replacements to fill in for the star, but it seems people that have been replacements for her in the past have now landed their own gigs. Like Nick Cannon previously was a replacement for Wendy in 2019, but now has his own day talk time show. Also Jerry O’Connell, filled in for Wendy in the past but has now been picked up by The Talk.
