Wendy Williams was rushed to a local hospital in New York City a day before it was announced she tested positive for COVID-19 after her show was pushed back for October 4.

NYPD officers responded to a call on Tuesday morning concerning a 57-year-old woman who needed to be transported via ambulance for a mental health evaluation. According to Page Six, Williams is reportedly experiencing loneliness in addition to dealing with her mental health struggles.
“It has been a very difficult time for Wendy. She’s a single woman with very few friends. She lost her marriage, her mom, and is living alone,” a close source said to the outlet.

The news of her hospitalization comes after the new season of The Wendy Williams Show was postponed after Willaims tested positive for a “breakthrough case of COVID-19” as she continued to undergo her mental health evaluations.
“To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on Monday, October 4th.”
