Video Footage Shows MLB Star Marcell Ozuna Choking Wife As Cops Walk In

A new police video has been released of Atlanta Braves star outfielder Marcell Ozuna choking his wife right before he was taken into custody for domestic battery this past May.

Ozuna was arrested on May 29 in Sandy Springs, and charged with two counts of domestic battery.

Police stated that in part to choking his wife, Ozuna striked her with his cast and threatened to kill her.

“Take your hands off her. Get on the ground!” an officer shouted at Ozuna in the video.

Originally he was accused of felony aggravated assault by strangulation, Ozuna eventually was charged with misdemeanor family uproar and joined a pretrial diversion procedure. He had to finish 200 hours of community service and anger management counseling.

Earlier this week, MLB provided Ozuna a 20-game suspension. It is equivalent to time served, which means he is able to return to the Braves for the beginning of the 2022 season. Ozuna missed time on administrative leave last season as MLB examined the occurrence.

Ozuna, once led the National League in the COVID season which was quicker then regular seasons. He finished 2020 off with 18 home runs and 56 RBIs. Last offseason, he signed a four-year, $65 million contract with the Braves.
