In an email sent to parents by Dalton School Head Jim Best, he explained that Justine Ang Fonte will not return to the school next year. In addition, he also stated that he has resigned from his position at the school as well. “At faculty and staff meetings this week, Justine announced her decision to leave Dalton to focus on her work as an independent Health Educator. She has been working toward this goal for over a year. We support Justine’s aspirations and look forward to honoring her accomplishments as the academic year comes to a close,” he wrote.

Fonte made headlines after a video about masturbation that was presented to the school’s first-grade student where little kids discussed touching their genitals to feel good. Prior to the controversy, Fonte also taught a one-day workshop on “porn literacy” for high school juniors at Columbia Grammar and Prep School last month.

According to the New York Post, Fonte assured parents that her lesson does not explicitly use the word masturbation and her lesson encourages kids not to touch themselves in public.
