The years-long custody drama continues with Tyrese Gibson and his ex-wife Samantha Lee — whom he has accused of taking their 8-year-old daughter out of state without permission. And now, a judge has greenlit a warrant for her arrest.
On Tuesday (September 29), TMZ reported on Gibson’s claims found in court documents. The singer and actor alleged Lee removed their minor child from Atlanta, Georgia back in September 2025. He further alleged she has failed to maintain visitation rights — thus violating a parenting agreement they entered a month prior.
Furthermore, Gibson alleged Lee’s actions were not only in violation of their parenting plan, but were “premeditated.” Lee’s response in the docs showed her claiming she has primary custody of their daughter. Lee claimed Gibson’s paperwork included false information about their ongoing custody battle.
She also claimed her move out of Atlanta, Georgia was well-known to Gibson. She claimed he was privy to her move before leaving and that she never kept him in the dark. However, Gibson feels opposite. Furthermore, TMZ reported that he sought a warrant for her arrest.
On Wednesday (September 30), it was reported that a judge ordered the arrest of Lee. Hours after news broke, Gibson reportedly denied ever asking for his ex-wife to be arrested. He told TheShadeRoom:
“I never asked or requested for her to be arrested. That’s what the judge did on his own. Not only did the judge demand that we both appear in court, which was two days ago, but Samantha was a no-show. She did not show up. She didn’t appear via Zoom. She wasn’t there at all. There’s no sense of consequence. She doesn’t care. Samantha is literally in contempt of court in 12 different categories, including two criminal contempts from her specifically violating our joint and legal custody order that’s in place. If you go to her YouTube page, she confirms it herself. She had a calling from God to send her to Portland, Oregon??”
Gibson continued to tell the outlet:
“I have not seen Soraya Gibson, my daughter, in 110 days. My daughter’s birthday is October 1. She’s turning 8. My daughter, Shayla Gibson, has now been in college, has officially lived in Atlanta, and has been here for the last two weeks. My dream and my goal was to have finally both of my daughters living in the same state as me, Atlanta, Georgia — And Samantha took that away from me while manipulating and saying, ‘God called her to Portland.’ She is in Portland, Oregon. She has moved to three different homes, jumping around an Airbnb, and now she’s living with a random woman who is a single mother that she met at my daughter’s new school in Portland.”
