Tristan Thompson has caught up on back payments pertaining to child support he owed baby mama Maralee Nichols, who welcomed their nine-month-old son, Theo, last year, but he has yet to meet the toddler, a new report claims. According to the Daily Mail, the NBA player and Nichols are gearing up to settle their ongoing child support dispute in an upcoming hearing that was scheduled for October 7 but has since been requested to take place on December 7 instead.
Thompson and Nichols are expected to attend mediation talks in hopes that both parties can come to an agreement regarding the amount of money the basketball star will have to pay for his son’s needs on a monthly basis. His attorneys have since revealed that their client has — and continues — to make payments to the Instagram model and fitness trainer, though it remains unclear whether he’s been paying the $47,424 Nichols requested in her court filing.

While Thompson shares a close bond with all of his children — Prince, True, and his newborn son he recently welcomed with Khloe Kardashian via surrogate — the 31-year-old has yet to meet Theo. While it’s not known why he’s refused to be present in the life of the child he shares with Nichols, it’s no secret that Thompson was very much against the idea of her keeping the baby when she learned about her pregnancy shortly after their fling last year.
Per Daily Mail, he had allegedly offered Nichols $75,000 to get an abortion and keep quiet about their sexual encounter, which occurred while Thompson was still with Kardashian, whom he had spent well over a year trying to woo over, following a previous incident where he reportedly cheated on the reality star.
When news came out that Thompson was expecting a love child in late 2021, the Good American founder didn’t even hesitate to end the relationship with the father of her two children, having come to the realization that they simply weren’t meant to be.

Kardashian was undoubtedly heartbroken by the revelation, as seen on the family’s reality show, “The Kardashians,” on Hulu, where she confided in her family about the struggles she’s faced from being mistreated by her ex-boyfriend. Interestingly enough, she also revealed how Thompson had proposed to her in late 2020, but she opted not to pull through with the engagement because she was still uncertain whether the athlete was truly the changed man he claimed to be.
And by the look of things, he clearly wasn’t.
