Tory Lanez Pleads Not Guilty In Alleged Shooting Case Of Megan Thee Stallion
Tory Lanez’s legal team has entered a not guilty plea for his alleged involvement in Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting.
TMZ reports that his lawyer, Shawn Holley, appeared on the star’s behalf on Wednesday in Los Angeles and entered the not guilty plea in the case. Tory has not physically appeared in court yet.
The singer is currently facing one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. also notes that he allegedly inflicted great bodily injury on Megan.
Tory is free after posting $190,000 bail and has been ordered to stay away from the Stallion. He could face up to 22 years if he is convicted. The state is investigating whether Tory violated his order by taking the case to social media.
To add fuel to the fire, Meg recently claimed that Lanez begged her not to say anything and even offered her and her friend money to stay quiet. “[At this point] I’m really scared,” Megan explained, “because this is like right in the middle of all the protesting. Police are just killing everybody for no reason, and I’m thinking, ‘I can’t believe you even think I want to take some money. Like, you just shot me,’” GQ quotes. Lanez’s lawyer has denied that the rapper offered Megan and her friend hush money.
