Tiffany Haddish’s soul can’t be bought. The actress, who is covering Cosmopolitan’s latest Travel issue, made the revelation to the magazine, as she opened up on how her decision-making process has changed since landing her big break in Hollywood. Like most aspiring actors and comedians, Haddish was sure to take on any role she could in the hopes of furthering her career and gaining more exposure when she first started out.

But since becoming a household name, the 42-year-old says she’s taken a different approach to how she chooses not just her movie roles but also the companies she endorses, as she recounted once being offered $10 million to promote a social media post. But Haddish ultimately chose to turn down the deal because she didn’t think the company represented her brand very well, adding, “I turned down $10 million because my soul is worth more than that to me.”

Haddish, who grew up in a foster care home in Los Angeles before living in her car for a period of time, couldn’t see herself accepting a project of any kind at this stage in her career just because the money is good. “My spirit, my integrity, how I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror every day…I’d rather be flat broke than get money to do something that makes me feel like s***.”

The 42-year-old made quite the name for herself after starring as Dina in the 2017 comedy “Girls Trip,” propelling her to become one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. In fact, the unexpected worldwide success of “Girls Trip,” which made close to $150 million on a $19 million budget has since been announced to receive a sequel.

Will Packer, who is one of the producers on the flick, made the announcement earlier this year during a chat with Good Morning America, where he confirmed, “We are underway with Girls Trip 2, and now it’s just about what kind of trip do we take, right? Post-pandemic with all our favorite crazy ladies, what do we do with them? That’s what we got to figure out.”

But that’s not the only project Haddish currently has in the pipeline, as she recently completed filming “Back on the Strip,” an upcoming R-rated comedy starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes. She’ll also be starring in “Haunted Mansion” opposite Jared Leto and Jamie Lee Curtis, with a release date slated for early next year, while “Landscape with Invisible Hand” remains in post-production.
