Quavo & Saweetie Won’t Face Criminal Charges For Elevator Fight

Back in April, we reported that Quavo and Saweetie were being investigated for their big fight that went down last year.

The video which made its rounds on social media showed Saweetie swinging on her now ex-boyfriend Quavo before he throws her to the ground. Cops wanted to meet with both parties, separately, to discuss what went down. At the time, sources said their elevator fight could’ve been considered an instance of domestic violence, where both parties are in the wrong. But cops were looking to determine what happened before and after the elevator fight, TMZ notes.

According to the updated report by the news site, neither of them will face criminal charges for their elevator altercation. Law enforcement sources tell the news site that the case was referred to the L.A. City Attorney’s Office, which declined to file charges. It was said that based on the evidence — surveillance video of the then-couple in a physical confrontation — there was no likelihood of a conviction for either party.

As we previously reported, Saweetie eventually addressed this fight after it went viral online she said: “This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on.”

She also confirmed their split back in March as she hinted indefinitely.

According to TMZ, Quavo did not snatch back the Bentley he gifted to his now ex-girlfriend Saweetie for Christmas, despite multiple reports.

Rumors started swirling over the weekend that the Migos rapper had her Bentley repossessed after Saweetie confirmed their split over Twitter. She explained, “I’m single,” she wrote over the weekend. “I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character.” Quavo dropped a follow-up tweet and said he was ultimately “disappointed” that she publicly spoke out.

Saweetie was gifted a sweet light blue drop-top Bentley with the word “Icy” written inside.  Sources directly connected to Quavo reportedly told TMZ he didn’t repo the Bentley early in the morning over the weekend as claimed, and anything suggesting otherwise is completely false.

Per TMZ, Quavo leased the vehicle and never put it in Saweetie’s name. He reportedly got a deal with the dealership and it allowed him to end the contract early, which he’s alleged to have done in the wake of their split. After their break-up played out over social media, the rapper is said to have called for the car to be repossessed. But as TMZ notes, that didn’t happen at all.

Quavo and Saweetie recently graced the cover of GQ and also sat with the magazine to give fans a glimpse of their sweet romance.

During the interview, the Migos rapper revealed that he made his first move via DM. “So I slid in her DM,” he continued. “I told her, ‘You an icy girl, you need a glacier boy.'” After months of flirting over direct message and talking for hours on the phone, the two finally went on a date. Quavo took her to a strip called Magic City in Atlanta but a fight broke out. Amid the chaos, Quavo and Saweetie lost each other. “I didn’t know if it was on some gang s—, so it was like, ‘Let’s get to the car!'” Quavo explained. “All this time, I forget I’m having a date! She catches up and cussed me out in front of Magic City.” However, Quavo said, “We ain’t look back since.”

The two have been dating for 2 years and are going stronger than ever. Quavo even admits that he’s become a better person since meeting Saweetie. “When she talk to me and when we started talking to each other, the Saweetie s— go out the window and the Quavo s— go out the window,” said Quavo, whose real name is Quavious Marshall. “I give her Quavious. I give her what my mama calls me.” He went on to say, “I don’t let people inside my life, and I let her inside,” he added. “And she’s helping me grow up. She’s showing me how to love a woman.”

Saweetie, whose real name is Diamonté Harper, also admitted that Quavo has taught her how to be a “better communicator.”

“Growing up I struggled with communication,” she said. “I feel like I’m growing and I’m maturing because of him — not the music, not Saweetie, but Diamonté … I don’t know how I would be as a person if I would have never met him.”

When talking to the players and celebs in attendance, they all had the same message about giving back to charity. It does not matter where you start or how you start, just find something that is close to your heart and give your time. It’s not always about giving money!
