The incident took place aboard Flight 3814 from Seattle, Washington to Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, and police say Antonio Sherrodd McGarity committed the act shortly after takeoff. The woman who was exposed to McGarity’s lewd act wrote in the criminal complaint that he exposed “his penis by pulling down his pants and shorts and proceeded to masturbate during the first hour of the flight,” and licked a “white substance” from his fingers after ejaculating. She snapped photos of the incident and said he continued for an hour before falling asleep.

After a flight attendant was informed about the act, McGarity was arrested in Phoenix. He reportedly told the FBI that he asked the woman if “she minded if he masturbates” and she reportedly threw her hands in the air then responded, “it doesn’t really matter.” McGarity called her response “kind of kinky” and thought she was comfortable with him pleasuring himself.

McGarity was immediately placed on the airline’s No-Fly list as told by a Southwest Airline spokesperson.

“On April 2, we received reports of inappropriate Customer behavior on flight 3814 from SEA to PHX. The situation was reported to Crewmembers while inflight, and the Captain contacted law enforcement to meet the aircraft upon arrival. We immediately placed the passenger on our No-Fly List, resulting in a lifetime ban from traveling on Southwest.”
