Twitter users were not pleased with this mother’s reaction to her child testing positive for COVID-19 after she complained about canceling their trip to Disney World.
The mother posted the following for the Facebook group titled “Disney World Junkies”: “So…my 4-year old tested positive for Covie on Wednesday, the rest of the household was negative. We were/are supposed to go leave for Disney on the 26th. I am so devastated over the idea of canceling this trip..we have been planning it for months and months!! It was my 4 & 6-year-old’s entire Christmas present, without it..we have nothing really to give them Christmas morning.” She proceeds to write that her child has no symptoms of the virus and that the family plans to get retested in a few days but she feels “unbelievably stressed and heartbroken over the whole situation!!!”

However, the post made its rounds on Twitter and users said the mother should have been more concerned about the child’s health rather than the trip to Disney World. One user tweeted, “I just got really emotional imagining a mother being told her 4 y/o has a deadly illness & her getting upset bc it throws a wrench in Disney plans. This has been a big year for me learning how blasé people are about their own children.”
