A former soccer player who was believed to have been killed in a 2016 car accident in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been found four years later.
The New York Post reports Hiannick Kamba was a former youth soccer player star for the German Bundesliga until the car accident and was presumed dead for four years. Currently, Kamba works as a chemical technician at an energy plant in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and tried to prove his existence in 2018. He said the people involved in the car accident left him alone and took his documents, money, and cellphone.
His wife is accused of insurance fraud when it was discovered she allegedly forged documents to collect a six-figure insurance payment as reported by prosecutor Anette Milk.
