Sharon Osbourne broke down in tears as she shared the upsetting news that her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, has tested positive for Covid. The heartbreaking revelation is particularly troublesome to Sharon, considering she had just relocated to London in preparation for the launch of her new hour-long talk show, The Talk, which premiered earlier this week. In an emotional interview with The Sun before her flight back to California on Thursday, the 69-year-old stressed she would be absent from her hosting duties for a week to take care of Ozzy, who is already battling several health conditions, including Parkinson’s disease.
The Black Sabbath rock star was said to have found out about his positive status after being tested on Wednesday evening. Given the eight-hour time difference, Sharon wasn’t notified until the early hours of Thursday, which prompted her to book an early flight back to Los Angeles in hopes that being by Ozzy’s side would help him make a speedy recovery. “I spoke to him and he’s OK. I am very worried about Ozzy right now,” she told the publication.

“We’ve gone two years without him catching Covid and it’s just Ozzy’s luck it would be now,” the mother-of-three continued, quipping that she didn’t want to do anything more than to “hold him and kiss him” with three face masks on. “My family is my life. I can’t believe my luck. I’m missing the show and I’ve only been there three days.”

During the interview, Sharon said she didn’t believe her children had learned about the news of their dad’s test results concerning his Covid diagnosis yet, but she expected them to be by his side in no time to not only help Ozzy get back on his feet but also make sure that his next test comes back negative.
Doctors diagnosed Ozzy with Parkinson’s disease back in 2019, which causes a loss of nerve cells in parts of the brain and is often linked to symptoms such as shaking, slow movements, stiffness, and memory loss. If the condition worsens over time, it can eventually lead to dementia, the loss of cognitive functioning, such as thinking, remembering, and reasoning.
Sharon sat down with her longtime pal Piers Morgan on his TalkTV show Uncensored this week, where she briefly touched on the struggles Ozzy has faced with his recent health issues, which is why he did not accompany his wife on her trip back to the UK ahead of her return to TV. However, he’s still expected to move back across the pond later this year, as soon as his final surgery has been performed.
“How is Ozzy?” Piers asked. “My great man. He’s just one of my favourite people in the world. Been through the health wars a bit. How’s he doing?” Sharon chimed in, responding, “He’s doing okay. He is. He sends you his love. He’s got one more operation left to do and then he’s dying to come back home.”
