Same-Sex Influencer Couple Announce ‘Donor Sperm Giveaway’
Same-sex influencer couple Allie Conway and Sam Kwiatkowski have recently announced a “Donor Sperm Giveaway” to their 201,000 followers on their Instagram.
The Nova Scotia, Canada wives took to their account last Friday, posting photos of themselves with a sign about their giveaway. In their caption, the couple details they’re partnering with Pasadena, California’s Fairfax Cryobank “to (hopefully) help one of [their followers] grow [their] family.”

Along with simple rules to win, the caption also says, “the winner will receive credit for 1 vial of donor sperm (of your choice) from Fairfax Cryobank + free shipping, and will be announced and contacted via DM on August 20th. Contest open to residents of Canada + the US. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram.” It’s to be noted that a single vial of sperm from Fairfax Cryboank goes for $650 to $1,050 and shipping can rack up to $305 per container.
The post garnered mixed reactions in the comments, with one user writing, “We just started our IVF process. This would be a dream / big time saving in the already huge bill 
thank you for the opportunity ladies !” Another says, “This could be our dream come true!!!!”
Meanwhile, on Twitter, one user says, “Imagine telling a child that they came from an instagram giveaway.” And in a follow-up tweet, they clarified they weren’t bashing the couple, but “commenting on the absolutely wild nature of doing [sponsored content] for a sperm bank.”
Another tweeter writes, “This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen social media used for ever, in my entire life, and I feel like no one’s appreciating the pure divine comedy that is an INSTAGRAM GIVEAWAY RESULTING IN NEW HUMAN LIFE.”
