Rihanna and A$ap Rocky welcomed their baby boy to the world earlier this week, and though they’re currently residing in Los Angeles, a new report claims the doting couple is planning to call Barbados their home in the forthcoming months. According to The Mirror, the What Now singer wants to spend the next three months in sunny California before moving back to the Caribbean, where she spent a significant amount of time during her pregnancy with her newborn.
“Rihanna loves Barbados and she loved growing up there,” a source explained, asserting that Rih-Rih wants her baby to have a normal upbringing around family and friends and away from the limelight. “She wants to give her baby the same experience she had – away from the world of showbusiness. Both her and ASAP’s family are in Barbados, so the couple are planning to move there in a few months’ time.” The publication further claims that Rihanna has already sought out elementary schools she would want her little toddler to attend in a few years’ time.
The 34-year-old announced her pregnancy back in January in a series of photos that saw her strolling through the streets of New York in a pair of denim jeans and an oversized pink jacket, with her growing baby bump peeking through. Earlier this month, Rihanna and her beau sent fans into a frenzy following the release of A$ap’s music video for his song D.M.B, which features a wedding scene in which he proposes to the Bajan beauty.
He’s seen wearing a pair of grills which read, “Marry Me?” The camera then cuts to Rihanna, who smiles back with her own “I Do” grills, leading many fans to believe the pair had quietly tied the knot and that the music video scene was their way of confirming the news publicly. However, sources told TMZ that there was absolutely no truth to the speculation on social media — the pair are not married, nor has A$ap proposed to Rihanna… at least not yet.
“Sources close to the couple tell TMZ the two aren’t engaged. Our sources say the whole thing was just done for fun,” the publication wrote.

In April, following a return trip from Barbados to Los Angeles, A$ap was arrested and taken into custody upon his arrival at the LAX airport in connection with an alleged shooting in 2021. The Fashion Killa rapper wasn’t given a heads up about the situation because law enforcement officers reportedly didn’t want to hint that they were preparing to search his home in the hopes of uncovering the weapon used in the altercation.
However, after raiding A$ ap’s home, cops were unsuccessful with their search.
