Pregnant Keke Palmer Fires Stylist Law Roach

In mid-2022, Palmer became pregnant with her son Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson, whom she welcomed on February 25, 2023 with ex-boyfriend Darius Daulton Jackson. During the early stages of her pregnancy, Palmer was trying to conceal her baby bump from the public. She later made the reveal on December 3, 2022.

However, as Palmer tried to hide her belly, Roach was excited and wanted to showcase it. Subsequently, their business relationship came to an end as Palmer fired him. Despite their failed professional relationship, their personal relationship wasn’t severely affected, and they remained close friends.

In October 2024, Roach first recalled a pregnant Palmer firing him. He then recalled it again with Palmer herself in July 2025. He appeared on her podcast, ‘Baby, This is Keke Palmer,’ and they reflected on everything.

During the episode, the two reflected on their personal and professional relationships. While they were able to get things right in their friendship, the two recognized that doing business together as friends just doesn’t work. Nonetheless, they admitted how they are still able to maintain mutual respect for each other and remain great friends after Palmer fired Roach.

Roach said he was disappointed and “will never let it go” because he “owes” her a look since he couldn’t get things right before being fired. Palmer said, “I could not understand how we can have so much chemistry in real life, and that chemistry would not be shown there.. ‘Cause we’re meant to be together in some ways.”

Law Roach Speaks With ‘Pride’ While Reflecting On Keke Palmer Firing Him During Her Pregnancy

On the Tuesday (October 20) episode of Emma Grede’s podcast, ‘Aspire with Emma Grede,’ Law Roach again reflected on Keke Palmer firing him. During the interview, Roach told Grede that in his work, if he cannot add value, he’s leaving. This led to her asking him about being fired by Palmer. He laughed and admitted:

“I just couldn’t get it right. And to me, it wasn’t personal. I love Keke to death. It wasn’t personal, it was a business decision that she should’ve made. I couldn’t get the looks right. I couldn’t get the energy right. And it was like, she made a business decision to fire me. And I love what she said. She called me and she said, ‘You may be the best stylist in the world. But, you are not the best stylist for me.’ And I said, ‘Well alright, Keke Palmer.’”

Grede and Roach agreed how much they admire people who know themselves. Roach added, “She knows exactly who she is and what she wanted. And I couldn’t deliver. And I’m not mad at that.” Grede continued to inquire about what led to Roach’s termination.

He explained that Palmer was pregnant and wanted to hide her bump. However, he couldn’t help but want to dress the bump and accentuate her belly — versus building looks to hide it. Roach added, “I tell that story all the time—with pride—that she made a great business decision. A great business decision.”
