Local reports state Dorn retired from the police department after 38 years of service and his death was allegedly streamed on Facebook Live. His wife Sgt. Ann Marie Dorn said he would often check the pawnshop as a favor to his friend who owned the property.

Governor Mike Parson said in a statement that looting and killing others is highly unacceptable within the state:

“What Minneapolis police officers did to George Floyd isn’t acceptable and they MUST be held accountable. What criminals have done in St. Louis and across Missouri the past few nights isn’t acceptable. They MUST be held accountable,”
