Following the passing of actress Hayden Panettiere, many of her interviews are resurfacing — including one where she alleged mega beauty brand Neutrogena “fired” her after revealing her bout with Postpartum Depression (PPD). Subsequently, fans are dragging the brand on social media.

As we previously shared, the 36-year-old actress was found dead by a friend on Sunday (August 16). The friend — who may or may not be her on-again/off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson — called 911 to an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.
The friend reported an “unresponsive female” in “cardiac arrest.” Upon arrival, first responders initially suspected a drug overdose death. It was later reported by TMZ that officials found a used Narcan dispenser on a mattress inside the home. It is unclear if the actress, or someone else, used the medication — which is administered to reverse the effects of an opioid OD.

EMS workers used “advanced cardiac life support,” including CPR with chest compressions, medication (like Epinephrine, aka adrenaline, which is commonly used to resuscitate patients in cardiac arrest), breathing tubes, and heart rhythm monitoring. But sadly, officials couldn’t revive her and pronounced her dead at 2:32 p.m.
On Monday afternoon (August 17), TMZ reported that the Greenville County Coroner’s Office completed an autopsy. The results found no signs of foul play nor trauma. The investigation into Panettiere’s death continues.

Since Panettiere’s passing, her May 2026 interview with Jay Shetty resurfaced. In it, she details her bout with PPD after giving birth to her only child in 2014. The ‘Heroes’ actress shares 11-year-old daughter Kaya Evdokia Klitschko with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.
In 2018, Panettiere released custody to her former partner. He has since continued to raise their daughter in his native country of Ukraine.
In the Shetty interview, Panettiere opened up about the traumatic birth of her daughter. She talked about her PPD battle, mental health, alcohol addiction, recovery, and more. While speaking on PPD, she recalled first revealing her bout in a 2015 interview on ‘Live! With Kelly and Michael.’
Panettiere then alleged that after her appearance, she lost her decade-long brand partnership with Neutrogena. She said that in 2016 her rep told her the company “wanted to fire [her]” over her revelation. The move left Panettiere extremely hurt. Especially since she “did not hear a word” from any of the people she had spent 10 years working alongside.
Panettiere also wrote about being dropped by Neutrogena in her memoir, ‘This is Me: A Reckoning.’ In it, she wrote, “Neutrogena canceled my long-standing contract, and it was yet another blow in a year that had given almost nothing else.”
