Ray Lewis lll, Son Of Baltimore Ravens Legend Ray Lewis Dies at 28

So sad! The Baltimore Ravens legend, Ray Lewis’ son, Ray Lewis lll has tragically passed away, according to TMZ. He was only 28 years old.

The details about his death have not been released to the public yet but multiple sources have confirmed. Ray Lewis lll played high school football in Florida where he was a star running back who rushed for 1,898 yards and 20 touchdowns, as well as 676 yards and four touchdowns receiving during his senior season. Once he made it to college level he went to the Miami Hurricanes, Coastal Carolina and then ended up at Virginia Union University. 

Virginia Union Associate Head Coach Diego Ryland, who knew Lewis III, told TMZ: “Great young man and a better teammate. The entire Virginia Union University community is praying for the family as they deal with the loss of Ray.” 

In more sad news, Lewis III’s younger brother, Rahsaan, also posted on social media mourning his death: “Really can’t believe I’m even typing this but RIP big brother.  A true angel I pray you’re at peace now because IK how much you was rlly hurtin. I don’t and won’t ever have the words man cuz this pain right here….I love you I love you I love you. Your niece gone miss you but she will hear about u over and over just watch over us all big bruh be our guardian I promise I’ll make you smile and proud.”

Many people on social media compared Lewis’ son to him when it comes to playing ball. Ray Lewis is mainly known for achieving numerous accolades and accomplishments. He was a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year (2000, 2003) and a 13-time Pro Bowl selection. He was also named to the All-Pro First Team seven times and the All-Pro Second Team twice.

Lewis played a crucial role in leading the Ravens to two Super Bowl victories. He was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXV, in which the Ravens defeated the New York Giants. Lewis retired after winning his second Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XLVII, which was his final NFL game.

Known for his intensity, leadership, and passionate playing style, Ray Lewis became the heart and soul of the Baltimore Ravens’ defense. He was known for his ferocious tackling, exceptional instincts, and ability to motivate his teammates.
