While on Instagram live Friday, Moss opened up about his recent battle with bile duct cancer, revealing that he underwent a six-surgery just six days ago. He had a Whipple procedure, targeting cancer that was located just outside the bile duct, nestled between the pancreas and the liver.
Though he moved a bit slowly, Moss was in great spirits as he shared that he’ll be starting chemotherapy and radiation moving forward. This surgery came on the heels of a 2.5-hour procedure he had on Thanksgiving to place a stent in his liver.
Moss emphasized the importance of regular health screenings, stating, “By the grace of God, my liver started acting up.” He noticed discolored urine, leading to diagnostic tests that ultimately revealed the cancer.
He’s also got some gear available on his personal website, with proceeds going to cancer research—a cause close to his heart.
Right now, Moss is on an extended leave of absence from ESPN, but he’s fully committed to making a comeback.
