Queen Elizabeth II Postpones Another Engagement: A Reception At Windsor Castle Scheduled For Next Week
According to British online newspaper ‘The Independent,’ Queen Elizabeth II has issued another postponement since it was reported that she’d fallen ill with COVID-19. The latest appearance was for a reception that was scheduled next week at the Windsor Castle.
The news outlet reports that a diplomatic reception was due to be held on Wednesday (Mar. 2). However, per advice from the foreign secretary, the Buckingham Palace says Her Majesty has decided to delay the event. If she would’ve attended, she would’ve met with hundreds of members of the Diplomatic Corps. Additionally, the news source cites that the postponement was due to the current conflict in Ukraine, whose nation is battling a Russian invasion.
