Nicki Minaj is facing another lawsuit after a production company alleges the superstar rapper is refusing to pay a $275,000 bill for a couple of Jingle Ball performances and ‘Pink Friday 2’ promotional events.
According to TMZ, the production company, 24/7 Productions, filed the lawsuit against Nicki and her company, Pink Friday Productions.
In its complaint, 24/7 Productions claimed it first partnered with Nicki during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. At that time, the company provided her with live entertainment production services. During the awards show, Nicki performed a medley of her biggest hits upon accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Production Company Accuses Nicki Minaj And Her Pink Friday Productions Of Dodging $275K Bill
24/7 Productions continued to claim that in late 2023, Nicki Minaj reached out for help with her concerts at Jingle Ball and her album launch for ‘Pink Friday 2.’ 24/7 said they provided budgets to the “Super Bass” rapper — which they said were all approved. They then claim to have given Nicki’s team “advance planning, on-site management, staffing, audio, lighting, rigging, ground transportation, and overall logistics.”
According to AllHipHop, the production company also claimed it advanced $275,149.62 to Nicki Minaj for expenses, which she was expected to pay back. 24/7 Productions continued to claim that they paid Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday Productions about $650,000 for her Jingle Ball performances alone, but she failed to pay them back.
In the lawsuit, 24/7 said for years it has repeatedly attempted to collect their fees from Nicki. However, her team allegedly sends back replies claiming, “We’ll look into this.” AllHipHop also reported that Nicki’s company even acknowledged the debt in writing. One alleged message read, “We will be able to send you the money for the radio shows as soon as it is received.”
24/7 Productions is now suing for breach of contract. It is also naming Nicki Minaj, personally, accusing her of unjust enrichment. The company has argued that she directly benefited form services rendered without compensation. 24/7 Productions is seeking over $275,000 in damages, plus interest and court costs.
