League City authorities said the body of 35-year-old Erica Allen was found down the street from her home Wednesday evening after she was shot by her husband, Nicolas Allen. Nicolas reportedly carried out the shooting then returned back to the home he shared with Erica and their small children. Additionally, he contacted 911 and told the dispatcher that a home invasion occurred at the home and a tactical team arrived at 1:30 a.m. who later determined that a home invasion did not take place.
In a statement, they said officers entered the home where they found Nicolas in a closet where it was apparent he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The children, aged 2 and 7, were unharmed. Local reports noted that Erica had filed for divorce in Galveston County last July and also filed a temporary restraining order against Nicolas.
