Taking to their official Facebook account, Tulsa Police Department officials have reported that around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (August 2) they received a call in reference to a stabbing, which was said to have happened at a Sonic in Tulsa Hills, located on 81st Street. When officers arrived to the scene, they discovered a male victim with a flagpole lodged through his head.
Tulsa PD said that the flagpole had fully entered the Oklahoma man’s head from under his jaw and had exited his head from the right temple area. Police also added, “The American Flag was still attached to the pole at the time.” Police said the Tulsa Fire Department was eventually called to the scene as well and that TFD crews had to cut part of the pole in order to fit the man into an ambulance.
Meanwhile, the second Oklahoma man who allegedly stabbed the victim through the head has been identified as Clinton Collins. According to several witnesses at the Sonic, they claimed to have seen Collins charging the victim and then stab him in the head with the flagpole. Witnesses also told Tulsa Police that in the aftermath of the tragic and horrific incident, they heard Collins yell out, “That’s what he gets. He deserved it.”
When Tulsa PD arrived to the scene and found the victim, they also immediately took Collins into custody. He has since been arrested and booked for Maiming AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony).
Fortunately, Tulsa Police have updated that the Oklahoma man who was stabbed is expected to survive. They specifically said, “Miraculously, we’re told the victim will survive his injuries, but will likely lose an eye.”

Elsewhere, it has been reported by the The Associated Press that Collins, who claims the victim “deserved it,” is a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Being so, his case will either be handled in tribal court or in U.S. District Court.
Reportedly, in 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Oklahoma prosecutors can no longer pursue criminal cases against defendants who are tribal citizens in the main areas of eastern Oklahoma since it sits in an American Indian reservation.
