#Socialites, are you ready?! Destiny’s Child is gearing for their 30th anniversary and to celebrate, the group’s former manager, Mathew Knowles, reveals they are dropping new music next month!
On Wednesday (July 22), Knowles told SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio that the trio — comprised of his daughter Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams — are about to drop tons of new songs. Knowles said the new music will be released “in the next 30 days.” He said:
“We’re about to market a bunch of new remixes. Some you’ve never heard before from Destiny’s Child. And then there’s some that are dance mixes, and then there’s some that are just regular urban mixes. So there’s a combination. We have so much music that hadn’t been put out yet on Destiny’s Child.”
Knowles also said there will be some “guest rappers” on the remixes. He named Missy Elliott before stopping himself.
Mathew Knowles Says Destiny’s Child Is Potentially Dropping 2 New Albums With Unreleased Music
On Thursday (July 23), TMZ dropped their own interview with Knowles. He told them, DC has about 10 to 15 remixes in the vault and the tracks will potentially arrive on two albums: one Urban and another Dance. Knowles said, “It will be possibly two albums. One, again the Urban remixes, and the Dance remixes.”
Knowles confirmed all three women have given their approval to drop the unreleased songs. He said, “The ladies have approved [the songs] in the vault that actually have approved years ago and now’s a great time to put it out.” Knowles continued to share:
“Remember, we have all of this content. Both audio and visual content that’s never been heard before and never been seen before. This is the perfect time to put it all out. You have a tribute tour going out. You have new music going out. You have new video going out. We’ll have new merchandise. There’s no official merchandise—there’s a lot of bootleg Destiny’s Child merchandise. But we’re look at [having] official merchandise. And in the hopes, also, that it will impact in a positive way each of the ladies’ solo careers.”
Presently, Knowles has been promoting the “Destiny’s Child Iconic Reimagined Tribute.” He says fans across America can experience part 2 of the run now. As for the new music dropping next month, Knowles said, “These will be some unreleased songs that we had in the vault. Both Urban mixes as well as Dance mixes. And it’s time to share that.”
Knowles said while a potential tour may not happen right now, at least fans can hold over with some unreleased tracks. He explained, “The fans really have asked for Destiny’s Child to have a tour. So, I’ve been thinking of ways that we can give something to the fans.”
Knowles continued to confirm there is currently no plans for a Destiny’s Child tour at this time. He explained:
“That’s a decision that they will make. What we saw at Beyoncé’s last tour — ‘Cowboy Carter,’ that the ladies came out and did a couple of songs — I think you will continue to see those type of things. But, I know Beyoncé’s working on a project that’ll be out soon. That’ll mean the life cycle of that will be 3 to 5 years. That would include touring. So, it’s a timing thing. And that’s why I thought right now is the right time to release this material that’s mostly unreleased and never heard. We’ll have opportunities for content that’s never been seen before.”
