NYC Gym Teacher Fired & Charged After Viral Video Of Him Slamming Student Against Wall

An NYC gym teacher has been fired and charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child after being seen in a viral video slamming a student against a wall. The teacher, identified as 58-year-old Colin McNally, was a Phys. Ed. teacher and coach for the Boys Varsity Tennis team at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside, Queens, NY.

On Wednesday (Feb. 16), McNally was arrested on school grounds after throwing a 14-year-old student into a wall. Witnesses say the victim was playing basketball when McNally grabbed the ball from him (for reasons unknown) and began walking the ball to the principal’s office. The teen followed him, asking to have the ball back, but things quickly escalated after he tried to reach for the ball, leading McNally to snatch the boy up by the shirt, slam him against the wall, and throw him to the ground.

In a complaint, McNally admitted, “I pushed a kid against the wall and then I pushed him to the ground.” Fortunately, the teen walked away without physical injuries; however, the Department of Education and people everywhere are stunned. DOE spokesman Nathaniel Styer says, “These are incredibly disturbing allegations, and Mr. McNally was immediately removed from the classroom away from students, pending the outcome of the investigation.” Following his statement, it’s been confirmed that McNally has been fired from the school and facing the aforementioned charges.
