NLE Choppa Responds To Backlash For Commenting On Takeoff While Simultaneously Promoting His New Music: ‘I Ain’t Gone Let Y’all F**k My Day Up’

NLE Choppa is getting a lot of backlash on social media after taking to his Instagram page last night to tease his fans with new music while mentioning Takeoff in his caption. NLE, who was also celebrating his 20th birthday on Tuesday, had captioned the post, writing, “I’m 20 Today, I Feel Good, I’m Dropping This In 3 days, And RIPTAKEOFF.”

The video that was accompanied by the message shows NLE dancing to one of his forthcoming songs reminding his followers of his big day. And while the post was still met with a lot of positive comments from people sending their birthday wishes to the rapper, others felt that bringing up Takeoff in such a post was uncalled for and unnecessary.

“No you could’ve given takeoff his separate post instead of linking it to promote your mid music.” one person wrote in the comment section under the video of NLE’s post. The “Camelot” rapper has since responded to the backlash, insisting that he only mentioned Takeoff because “it’ll be inconsiderate to not say it with what happened. My birthday today tho Ian gone let y’all f**k my day up. Like I said RIP TAKE RESPECTFULLY !”

But not everyone felt his response to the situation was valid, feeling as if it came across as rather insensitive to mention Takeoff in the same post he is telling people to get ready for the new music he plans on dropping.

“You are smart to understand and separate death of someone and putting your song on it or anything,” another person wrote in the comments section. “You are a spiritual person so you DO know the frequency of vibes on your song while the death of someone else’s doesn’t match And with your Influence you could do better.”

As we previously reported, Takeoff was tragically gunned down shortly after playing a game of dice at a Houston bowling alley called 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston. His death has stunned fans and the Hip Hop community, with everyone from Monica to Ja Rule, Future, and even Khloe Kardashian having paid their respects and sent condolences to the late rapper’s family and loved ones.

Drake, too, penned a heartfelt message on Instagram as he reflected on the memories he was able to share with Takeoff during their many encounters together. “I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That’s what I’ll focus on for now 😔 rest easy space man Take [rocket emoji],” he wrote.

Takeoff was just 28 years old.
