‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Actor John Saxon Dies At 83

Hollywood has lost another star. John Saxon, the actor of the hit “A Nightmare On Elm Street” films, has died at age 83.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news. Saxon’s passing was confirmed by his wife, who shared that he died from pneumonia in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Saturday (July 25).

During his lengthy career, Saxon made nearly 200 movie and television appearances. He starred in 1966 western The Appaloosa, 1973’s Enter the Dragon, three films in the Nightmare on Elm Street horror series, and many more. Saxon is survived by his son, Antonio, and his sister, Dolores.

The sad news comes just a day after it was reported that Regis Philbin had died. According to the legendary television host’s family, he passed July, 24 from natural causes. No further details were shared.

Both John Saxon and and Regis Philbin will be greatly missed.
