Despite the horror unfolding, some passengers couldn’t resist pulling out their phones to record the emergency evacuation.
A second video making rounds online shows passengers scrambling to exit the smoking aircraft, with an unnamed flight attendant yelling, “Put your phones away!” in frustration.
While many understand the instinct to document such a rare moment, safety experts emphasize that passengers should prioritize getting out over filming.
Thankfully, all 80 people on board survived, though 18 sustained injuries. Officials have not yet disclosed whether any injuries were severe.
