While the internet believes that the divorce drama between Kim Zolciak and husband Kroy Biermann is just for a potential ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ storyline, Zolciak’s former ‘RHOA‘ castmate NeNe Leakes agrees that it makes for good TV, but also says all the drama isn’t fake.
In early May, we first learned that Zolciak had filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage, and four kids later.
The news of the divorce filing came on the same day that Zolciak, 45, and Biermann, 37, were accused of owing the IRS $1.1 million in back taxes, with a reported lien placed on them as well.
Things turned nasty when the couple began throwing jabs at each other, with Biermann calling out Zolciak for assault, “being a bad mom,” and gambling away the family’s money. Meanwhile, Zolciak and her lawyers fired back at Biermann, claiming he’s emotionally and mentally abusive.
Two months after filing for divorce, we then learned that Zolciak and Biermann called off it off and were spotted out on family outings.

Since the couple reunited, Zolciak’s on/off bestie and former ‘RHOA‘ castmate NeNe Leakes, 55, has opened up about all the divorce drama. While fans online believe that Zolciak and Biermann only reconciled to get back into reality TV, Leakes doesn’t believe that’s the case.
Leakes highly doubts that the couple would go to such extreme lengths just to get back on TV again. Speaking with TMZ about the couple reuniting, Leakes said, “You know, it’s good. It’s a marriage. You have a lot of highs and lows. So, hopefully they’re going to work it out, they have a family.”
Leakes agreed that the divorce did get quite “messy,” and it’s crazy that “suddenly, [they’re] back friends,” and then joked, “Sort of like me and her relationship. Fall out and get right back.” Leakes also said she doesn’t know if Zolciak and Biermann are back together for good, but she “hopes so.”
When asked if she agrees with fans online that believe the couple’s divorce drama is all a ploy to get back on TV, Leakes said, “It makes great TV, but I personally wouldn’t want to act like I’m having some issues with my husband just to get back on TV. I wouldn’t want to do that. So hopefully, that’s not what it is.”
However, NeNe Leakes did admit that she doesn’t doubt that Zolciak will get back on ‘RHOA‘ one way or another. She explained, “Oh, I’m sure she’ll get back on the show, whether she did that or not. I’m sure they would allow her to come back over and over again.” Leakes also admitted that she has been in contact with Zolciak, “reaching out a few of times while she’s been going through her divorce.” Overall, Leakes hopes Zolciak “is in a better place.”
