Murdered Texas Boy, 4, Was Living With Father’s Girlfriend As Dad Was Missing For Months
More shocking details are emerging about the murdered four-year-old little boy Cash Gernon.
As we reported, Gernon was found dead in a Dallas neighborhood after he was allegedly taken from his crib on Saturday morning.
MEAWW reports that Police believe Darriynn Brown, 18, is responsible for the kidnapping and murder, however, his connection to the family is unclear. Cash and his twin brother were living at a home on Florina Parkway in Dallas’s Mountain Creek area with a woman called Monica Sherrod. Outlets reported her as the mother, but she is actually the boys’ father’s ex-girlfriend. The boys’ father left them with her and has been missing since March.

Cash’s twin brother was reunited with his biological mother, Melinda Seagroves, and grandmother, Connie Ward, who had been searching for the twins for months. They had no idea that their father had abandoned them.
While Sherrod claims the attack was random she identified Brown as the suspect when police arrived.
“Dallas investigators anticipate additional charges, pending results from a forensic analysis,” police said. “Even us as police officers, we are shocked,”The boy was murdered through a violent act,” likely with an edged weapon. “We’re very angry about what has happened to the small child.”
