Multi-Platinum Songwriter J.Wright Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 20-Year-Old Girlfriend
Multi-platinum songwriter J.Wright, 31 and born Justin L. Wright, has been charged in the fatal shooting of his 20-year-old girlfriend, Wilanna Bibbs. Wright has collaborated with Timbaland, Bow Wow, Omarion, Lil Fizz, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Nipsey Hussle, DJ Khaled, Future, etc.)
It’s reported that Wright, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, was hit with first-degree murder in the death of Bibbs, a native of Durham, North Carolina. The incident occurred on Sunday (May 9) at a residence in West Davenport, Iowa around 1:25 p.m. Responding to the domestic disturbance call, police, on arrival, discovered Bibbs and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Wright has since been arrested and charged, with bond set at $500,000 cash. A preliminary hearing has been set for May 20 as an investigation continues. Additional coverage from The Neighborhood Talk includes sources who say Wright was “manipulative and controlling” over Bibbs, who “was just trying to leave.” They add that Wright’s mother bought Bibbs a ticket to Iowa to see her son and that Wright attempted to turn Bibbs against her family.
