A Texas mother-of-three was arrested Friday after her bedridden daughter was found dead during a routine welfare check.

The Daily Mail UK reports 26-year-old Lauren Kay Dean was arrested Friday after cops were called to her Bay City home around 2:30 pm. Her two other children, a five-year-old and a three-month-old were also present in the home during the welfare check. Investigators report Dean’s seven-year-old daughter was bedridden due to a medical condition and her cause of death is unknown.

Currently, she is being held at the Matagorda County Jail and her daughter’s cause of death is under investigation. A neighbor said during an interview with ABC 13 how would it be possible for anyone not to notice the girl’s passing prior to the welfare check:

‘That’s really sad because I have a 7-year-old right there so I wonder how that happened without anybody knowing, and especially if she had other kids too,’
