A model is nearly blind after getting both of her eyes dyed black by a tattoo artist in 2016. She is seeking compensation for the botched work.
According to the Mirror, model Aleksandra Sadowska,25, lost sight in her right eye and is currently losing the ability to see in her left eye after undergoing an extreme form of body modification. She went to a local tattoo shop where a tattooist dyed the whites of her eyeballs completely black in Warsaw, Poland. She decided to dye her eyes as a way to emulate her favorite rapper, Popek.

The tattoo artist who performed the work, Piotr A, is currently facing up to three years in prison for dyeing the model’s eyes. Sadowska said she was experiencing pain but was told by the tattooist that it was normal and to take painkillers.

Sadowska has undergone three medical procedures in hopes to restore her eyesight but doctors discovered that the ink went into her tissue. Her lawyers state that the tattooist was unaware that the ink used during the procedure was only made to be used on skin. However, he denies that he did anything wrong.
“There is clear evidence that the tattoo artist did not know how to perform such a delicate procedure. And yet he decided to perform it which led to this tragedy.”
The model is seeking $330,000 for compensation in response to the artist’s carelessness.
