Meghan Markle could be at risk of not getting her British citizenship due to the recent Megxit talks.

The Times of London reports that Meghan was in the process of getting her British Passport after her marriage and the birth of baby Archie Harrison. However, Meghan still has to go through the regular process for citizenship.

An important part of her application relies on Meghan spending the majority of her time in the U.K, which most likely won’t happen with the new plans to move to Canada and eventually Los Angeles. The rules note that she must not have been out of the country for over 270 days in the past three years, or 90 days in the previous month. Harry must also meet the minimum income requirements of £18,600 a year, or have cash savings above £16,000. Meghan must also take a test on British life.

However, as a British citizen, Prince Harry is entitled to spend up to six months a year as a visitor in Canada.
