Mario Goes Off After Watching New Video Of Uvalde Police Retreating From Gunman During School Shooting: “ All of these cowards should be held accountable! F**king useless!”
On Tuesday, new footage of the shooting and surrounding events that occurred at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, was released, fueling even more scrutiny over delayed law enforcement response.
The new video, which was published by the Austin American-Statesman newspaper shows responding officers approaching the door of the classroom within minutes of the shooter entering yet retreating after the gunman opened fire at them. A little over an hour later, the footage shows even more officers from different agencies crowded in the hallway as they reach the doorway of the classroom that was already breached by law enforcement. After reaching there, they eventually shoot and kill the gunman who was identified as Salvador Rolando Ramos.
The unsettling video has left viewers even more frustrated and furious. Singer Mario reacted to the clip on his Instagram Story saying, “All of these cowards should be held accountable! Fucking useless! How do your wives sleep next to you at night?” He added, 77 min! America cares nothing about you and yours! #STAYDANGEROUS. Protect yours AT ALL COST!” In a follow-up post, Mario also said…
“All the money spent on gear, training etc For what if you can’t protect children! We (US) can go to fucking Syria to Bomb some fucking isis
leader but can’ ” kill a armed homeland terrorist who is literally KILLING CHILDREN!? You can’t make it make sense.”
Texas DPS Director Steven McCraw also released a statement Tuesday regarding the video:
“I am deeply disappointed this video was released before all of the families who were impacted that day and the community of Uvalde had the opportunity to view it as part of Chairman Dustin Burrows’ plan. Those most affected should have been among the first to see it. As I stated during my testimony before the Senate Special Committee to Protect All Texans, this video provides horrifying evidence that the law enforcement response to the attack at Robb Elementary on May 24 was an abject failure. In law enforcement, when one officer fails, we all fail.”
Texas Gov. Abbott’s office also released a statement Tuesday:
“Gov. Abbott is disheartened and disappointed that this video was leaked before the victims’ families and the Uvalde community – those most affected by this tragedy – had the opportunity to view it. The governor has been clear since day one that he expects all information surrounding the tragedy at Robb School Elementary to be released, and we do appreciate that the Uvalde community is getting answers. The investigations being conducted by the Texas Rangers and the FBI are ongoing, and we look forward to the full results being shared with the victims’ families and the public, who deserve the full truth of what happened that tragic day.”
