The red carpets are rolling out and Los Angeles is ready, and what better way to get back into the movies than with a star-studded premiere for one of the DC Universe’s highly anticipated films, “The Suicide Squad.”
Hollywood Unlocked was in the building as some of the biggest stars in the industry headed to the Regency Village Theater to witness some comic-book fun.
The cast attending included Margot Robbie,
Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Sylvester Stallone, Storm Reid, Taika Waititi, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rooker, Alice Braga, Nathan Fillion, Sean Gunn, Flula Borg, Mayling Ng, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Julio Cesar Ruiz, John Ostrander, and Mikaela Hoover, and John Ostrander, the legendary comic creator himself was in the building!
Everyone dressed to impress and stunned throughout the night, and John Cena made the exception as he looked like he walked straight off of the set, dressed as the peacemaker,
“This is a very festive occasion as we premiere The Suicide Squad,” Cena said “I ask myself who I am on a daily basis and the answer changes sometimes. And tonight I am dressed up as Christopher Smith, the Peacemaker.”
Following the carpet festivities, we got an introduction from Director and writer James Gunn who gave us some tea on Warner Bros. and DC’s latest hit.
Tonight’s the US Premiere of #TheSuicideSquad. This premiere is the most exciting for me as I’ve never seen the film live with an audience. Due to the hardships of the last year & a half, this movie was edited entirely from the homes of me & my editors @FredRaskin & Chris Wagner. pic.twitter.com/XFdr1HkMhZ

With a new and revamped crew, Task Force X is back and better than ever, with mostly new faces, with some of the old favorites including Harley Qun and Rick Flag and our favorite Viola Davis reprising her role as Waller.
The movie undoubtedly flowed well with its R-rating and it felt like a REAL war movie, equipped with gore, satire, and the crazy supervillain vigilantes that we put the fate of the world in, and a gigantic starfish ready to destroy everything. From a gigantic talking shark (Sylvester Stallone), and a Weasel who can’t swim, there is no dull moment.
The evening was followed by a ‘Suicide Squad” themed block party, with polka dot rooms, immersive activations, and stars!
Enough of the spoilers, A Warner Bros. release, “The Suicide Squad” will be available in theaters and streaming on HBO Max on Friday, August 6.
