WSB-TV reports Dawson Cody Porter was arrested Saturday after he broke into the King Salmon Fire Station to steal a fire truck so he could drive to Fisherman’s Bar in Naknek. Police say Porter kept the vehicle’s emergency lights on throughout the entire 15-mile road trip.
According to Police Chief John Rhysek, no one was inside the fire station when Porter stole the truck and he allegedly “caused approximately $10,000 in damage and rendered a $100,000 piece of fire apparatus inoperable until repairs can be made,”
