30-year-old Joshua Ray Starr was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, domestic abuse assault using a weapon, and child endangerment. An arrest affidavit filed by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies were sent to a home in New Liberty on Sunday afternoon to respond to a call about a domestic incident.

They said Starr and another woman were arguing over the phone when he drove over to her house to continue the altercation. Moments after, he pointed a gun at the woman and their son but she managed to escape to a neighbor’s house for help. After deputies arrived at the home, the woman asked for an emergency order of protection against Starr.
