Adam Jenne claimed the pair of underwear met with federal guidelines regarding face coverings on all flights and said he conducted the stunt to prove how “silly” it was. He boarded the Washington D.C.-bound flight from Fort Lauderdale where he wore the red underwear but was eventually kicked off moments before take off. His encounter with flight attendants was recorded by another passenger where they told him he was out of compliance for not wearing a mask.

“There’s nothing more absurd than having to wear a mask until I get to cruising altitude so that I can order Tito’s by the double and snack on pretzels, and illustrating that absurdity by wearing women’s underwear on my face sounds perfect.”

His recorded stunt also caused another passenger to exit out of the plane after asking the flight attendants if Jenne was kicked off for not wearing a mask.

“Thank you to them because they saw something, an injustice, something that didn’t make sense, and they stood up,”

According to ABC Action News, Jenne pulled a similar stunt on a Delta Airlines flight and was asked to exit out of the aircraft. United also said in a statement that Jenne is banned from all future flights until his case is resolved.

“The customer clearly wasn’t in compliance with the federal mask mandate and we appreciate that our team addressed the issue on the ground prior to takeoff, avoiding any potential disruptions in the air,”
