A Missouri man was arrested after he was caught posing as a health inspector and using patient information to collect money for his rent.

Eddie Jameson,27, posed as a St. Louis County Health Inspector and entered a convenience store claiming he was sent there to administer COVID-19 tests to see if there were still restrictions. According to Insider, Jameson collected the personal information of five employees which included their name, address, and driver’s license number before performing the nasal swab test.
However, James returned to the store two days later and informed the employees that their tests will be available soon. Police shortly arrived at the scene and arrested him. He was previously accused of going to another store to collect personal information was turned down by employees. Jameson worked at an organization that only distributes COVID-19 tests and he told police during an interrogation that he was supposed to get $20 per test.

He further explained that the cash was going to be used to pay rent for his apartment and used the tests as a way to get money. Jameson was charged with five counts of identity theft and false imprisonment for the scheme.
