Heartbreaking! Trevon Williams, a 21-year-old Phoenix, Arizona man, is behind bars after allegedly luring his pregnant 17-year-old girlfriend, Jariah Edwards, outside in the middle of the night before fatally shooting her in the head — just weeks before her due date. The newborn survived an emergency C-section delivery and remains in critical condition.
According to ABC15 Arizona, Edwards, originally from Arizona, was 32 weeks pregnant (eight months) when she and several family members were visiting Southern California — where Williams separately traveled to and met up with the teen.
Edwards’ family was staying in a short-term vacation rental when Williams allegedly used flowers to coax the teen outside in the middle of the night. Shortly after, police received several 911 calls about a shooting around 1:10 a.m. on Saturday (May 29).

Police ended up finding Williams around 3 a.m., “hiding” on a street about 1.5 miles away. Police took him into custody without incident and booked him into the San Diego County Jail. He faces charges including murder and attempted murder. Police also claimed to have recovered a semi-automatic handgun at the time of his arrest.
The San Diego Police Department said:
“Officers arrived within minutes and located a 17-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, who was approximately 32 weeks pregnant, was found unresponsive. Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures for both the victim and her unborn child. Paramedics transported the female to a local hospital where an emergency cesarean section was performed. The newborn remains in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, the mother died at the hospital. The victim’s 21-year-old boyfriend, also from Arizona, had traveled to San Diego separately and met up with the victim outside the rental, where he shot her. ”
