Over her four-decade-long career, Madonna has collaborated with countless Hip Hop stars, ranging from Lil Wayne to Missy Elliott, Quavo, Nas, Chance The Rapper, and Kanye West, with whom she collaborated with on her 2007 single “Beat Goes On.” And now, the Queen of Pop says there’s one rapper she has yet to work with, and that’s Kendrick Lamar.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, the “B**ch, I’m Madonna” singer explained her love for Lamar, saying she “worships” him, and that recently-released fifth studio album, “Mr. Morales & the Big Steppers,” was “mind-bogglingly brilliant.”

“I think there’s one artist i worship more than anything in life that i would love to collaborate with and that’s Kendrick Lamar. His new record (Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers) is like history-making… mind-bogglingly brilliant it’s insane,” she told Fallon. Perhaps Madonna will have a chance to collaborate with Lamar, given that he’s already said to be working on his sixth album, as revealed by his longtime friend and producer Sounwave.

During a recent conversation with Complex, Sounwave, whose real name is Mark Spears, gushed about the process of putting together an album with Lamar, who he says commences work on his next project as soon as he puts out his latest record. In this case, after dropping his newest body of work, Lamar wasted no time in starting production on new music.

“Oh, we always start immediately after. Like, we’re starting on the next one now,” Spears retorted. “That’s never going to change, all the way from the Kendrick Lamar EP. The next day, we started on Section.80. It’s just the ideas never stopped.

“That’s one of the main reasons I go on tour with him, is to create the next album. We can’t skip a beat. We have to just keep it going. There’s no breaks. There’s no such thing as a vacation when you’re doing what you love. Everything you do is what you love to do, so you’re excited.”

Spears also shared why the process of moving on from an album once it’s been released has become a habit of theirs, saying that after spending so much time working on a project, once it’s been put out to the consumers, the best thing to do is to think about what’s next. One has to remember that these albums can take years to produce, so it’s understandable why Sounwave and Lamar would want to step away and begin thinking about which direction they’ll go for the next record.

“Personally, once I release an album like this, I don’t go back to it for a while, because I lived it so much,” he added. “It’s like, it’s not for me anymore. It’s time for me to clear my head, so the best thing to do is to think about the next project.”
