Welp this isn’t your average morning TV moment… during a recent segment on This Morning , viewers heard from an interesting man named. MichaelPhillips. The 38-year-old from North Carolina, slid onto the couch with a title nobody’s lining up for: the man who says he has the world’s smallest penis.
Clocking in at 0.38 inches—lightyears away from the so-called 5.5-inch “average.” Phillips came with honesty, receipts, and a reality check. “I was probably in high school, and dealing with girlfriends and stuff like that, I thought I was a late bloomer, maybe one day it would be normal size. But it never happened,” he began explaining.
Phillips told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard that for most of his youth, silence was his shield. If nobody knew, nobody joked. But grown-man life doesn’t let you dodge forever. Dating, intimacy, and even something as basic as using the bathroom turned into daily hurdles.
“I kept it secret, I didn’t get picked on because nobody knew. “I can’t go out and have a one night stand but it also affects my ability to use a restroom, my confidence. Even sitting down can be tricky with the clean up and everything. I’ve tried everything possible. You can be upfront, you can try to talk to somebody, sometimes you don’t say nothing at all.”
The wild part? Phillips says it was humor that cracked the door to clarity. What started as a joke about being a Guinness World Record holder turned into a lightbulb moment.
“It wasn’t until joking about being a Guinness world record holder that I realised I might actually have the world’s smallest. If I could go for it, I would – I think it could help bring more awareness.”
Awareness is the keyword. Phillips isn’t chasing fame; he’s calling out a culture obsessed with measurements and myths. He says men are force-fed impossible standards while real medical conditions get reduced to punchlines.
“There really isn’t very much representation for small sizes in media and almost zero mention of micro penis being portrayed as being a real medical condition and not a slang joke term.”
While the internet will always crack jokes, Phillips walked away having already won something rarer than validation: control of his own narrative.
